1. What we collect
If you run a quiz (streamers)
- Your Twitch account details: your Twitch user ID, username, display name and profile picture, from signing in.
- Twitch access tokens: the keys Twitch gives us so the quiz can read your chat, post in it and delete quiz answers. A linked bot account's token is kept the same way.
- Your quiz: the rounds and questions you write, your settings, your chosen look (colours, font, any icon you upload), and which library questions you've used in the last 90 days so they don't repeat.
- Your plan: which plan you're on and its status. Payment is handled by Stripe, which collects your email address and card details. We receive a Stripe customer and subscription reference, never your card number.
- Your consent at checkout: the waiver wording you agreed to and when, stored with your subscription.
If you play in a quiz (viewers)
- Chat answers: when you type
!joinquizor!ain a channel running Quiz Night, your Twitch username, display name, your answer and when you sent it are recorded for that night, and the results are kept in that channel's quiz history. Other chat messages are read only to spot quiz commands and aren't stored. - Mods using the answer page: you sign in with Twitch just so we can check you moderate that channel. That Twitch token is handed straight back to Twitch afterwards; we keep only your username and display name for a 7-day session.
Everyone
- Cookies: only the ones needed to keep you signed in. No advertising or tracking cookies.
- Your browser's storage: small preferences like your difficulty slider position, kept on your own device.
- Server logs: IP address, browser and pages requested, for security and fixing problems.
2. Why we use it
- To run the Service you've signed up for (your quiz, chat, scene and library). Legal basis: performing our contract with you.
- To take payments and manage your plan, and to keep billing records. Legal basis: contract, and our legal obligations for tax and accounting.
- To record and score viewers' answers for the streamer whose quiz they joined. Legal basis: legitimate interest in running a quiz the player chose to take part in.
- To keep the Service secure and working. Legal basis: legitimate interest.
3. Who we share it with
- Twitch: to sign you in, read and post in chat, and delete answers. Twitch privacy notice
- Stripe: payments and billing. stripe.com/privacy
- Our server provider: our dedicated server is in Falkenstein, Germany, where your data is stored.
- Google Fonts: the pages and OBS scene load their fonts from Google, which receives your IP address when they load. Google privacy policy
- The streamer: if you play in someone's quiz, that streamer sees your answers and scores, and they may show them on stream.
We don't share your data with anyone else unless the law requires it.
4. How long we keep it
- Your account, quiz and settings: while you have an account. If your plan ends we keep them so you can come back; email us any time and we'll delete them.
- Twitch tokens: until you sign out of Twitch's Connections, ask us to delete your account, or Twitch expires them.
- Quiz history (including viewers' answers): while the streamer's account exists.
- Library history: 90 days.
- Billing records: as long as tax law requires (in Portugal, normally up to 10 years).
- Server logs: up to 90 days. Backups of the Service's data: up to 30 days.
5. Keeping it safe
Data is stored on our own server with access limited to us, tokens and backups are readable only by the system itself, and connections to the site are encrypted (HTTPS).
6. Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, or to move it elsewhere. Email support@rustinew.com from the address on your account, or tell us your Twitch name. Viewers can ask us to remove their answers from a quiz's history the same way. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data you can complain to your local data protection authority; in Portugal that's the CNPD (cnpd.pt).
7. Children
The Service is meant for streamers aged 18 and over (or younger with a parent or guardian's agreement). Viewers taking part must be old enough to use Twitch under Twitch's own rules.
8. Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll show it on the site before it applies.
