Cancelling and Refunds

Short version: the monthly plan comes with a free trial, so you can cancel before it ends and pay nothing. After that, cancel any time and you keep Chaos HUD until the end of the period you've paid for. Because it starts working the moment you pay, refunds aren't given for time you've already started. If something's actually wrong, talk to me first, I'd much rather fix it.

The free trial

Both plans start with a free trial. You give your card when you sign up, but nothing is taken until the trial ends. Cancel before then, from Billing, and you're never charged. If you don't cancel, your chosen plan is charged when the trial ends, a month for the monthly plan or the year for the yearly plan, and it renews from there.

Cancelling

Go to the Chaos HUD page, sign in with Twitch and press Billing. You can cancel or update your card there. You can also email us.
Cancelling stops the next renewal. Chaos HUD keeps working until the end of the period you've already paid for.
After that it stops opening. Your settings stay on your PC, so everything is there if you come back.

Your 14-day right of withdrawal (EU and UK)

Customers in the EU and UK normally have 14 days to withdraw from an online purchase. Chaos HUD starts working the moment your payment goes through, so at checkout you're asked to agree that it starts straight away and that you lose this right once it has started (in line with Article 16(m) of EU Directive 2011/83/EU).

If Chaos HUD doesn't start working for you after you've paid, your right of withdrawal stays in place until it does. If it still won't open 24 hours after your first payment, email us and we'll refund it in full.

When refunds aren't given

For time already started once the checkout box was ticked and Chaos HUD started working.
For part of a month after cancelling (it simply runs to the end of the month).
Where a licence was ended for breaking the terms, or in cases of fraud or abuse.

When something's wrong

If Chaos HUD isn't working as it should and we can't fix it, we'll put it right fairly, which can include a refund for the time it wasn't working. Email support@cptchaos.com with your Twitch name and what happened. The app's Support page has a Copy my log button; pasting that in helps a lot.

Chargebacks

Please contact us before disputing a payment with your bank, it's almost always quicker. A disputed payment may stop Chaos HUD opening while the dispute is open.
